Professor Liu Xiong is a general Party-branch secretary of the Labor Economics College, Capital University of Economics and Business. As a concurrent post, he is a vice-president, and a tutor of graduates. In 1983 he graduated from the Dept of economics, the Beijing Economics Institute.
Research area: Labor economics, social security.
His curriculum lectures: Teaching 4-course to undergraduate students and master-degree graduates, in which Social-security Introduction, Social-security Study, Modern Wages Management Study are primarily creative curricula of our school. In 1997, in 2000 and in 2004 for three times his textbooks were awarded the second-class prize as outstanding teaching achievement by Beijing government, and also awarded the first-class prize by our school for two times.
Main scientific research achievements: As a Chief editor, he compiled "Social-security Introduction", "Social-security Study", "Modern Wages Management Study", "Social-security Reasonable Argument" and so on , which account for 10 volumes of textbooks in total with 1.2 million characters; As a group leader, deputy group leader, he was in charge of completing 10-items of the state-level academic project, including "Transformation Assignment Mechanism, Straightening out Assignment Relations", and the province-level or the state ministry-level academic projects entitled "Social-security System Reform Research", "Social-security Target System Research", "Beijing Staff Basic Medical Insurance System Advancement Condition Research" and so on, two items of which were awarded second-class prize by the Chinese work academic society, and awarded the first-class prize by Beijing work safeguard system as well as awarded the outstanding scientific-research achievement prize of Beijing municipal 10th—five-year plan project in social science.
