Zhang Qiang was born in 1953 and graduated from the Chinese People's University with master degree. He is a researcher in charge of the Economics Research Institute, the CUEB. He was monthly given an expert-allowance by the State Council.

He has researched the suburb economy of big cities, especially Beijing suburb's these years, published over 200 academic papers, 10 of which were published in some kernel journals. His main works covers Management Study (1988);How to Organize Private Enterprises (1992); the World Villages Will Be Citified into an Integral Whole with the Urban(1998);Approach on Beijing's Suburb Being Citified (2001);On Urban Agriculture of China (2002)。She presided or was responsible for over 30 academic investigation and research items entrusted and directed by some authoritative bureau administration,two of which were suppoorted by the social-science programing fund of Beijing, and five belonging to the natural-science fund project of Beijing. She was in charge of an academic research item entitled (1) General Suburb Layout of Beijing in the 10th five-year-plan and the 11th five-year-plan (2004-2020),and (2)General Layout of Beijing Land Utilization (2005-2020).She presided at completing the Urban Agriculture Research Project as an academic research item of social science of China, which is in the lead in the same academic circle.As excellent achievements in the circle of philosophy and social science of Beijing Municipality, her academic papers erntitled Beijing Suburb Citification,and the City-Oriented Agriculture were awarded the first-class prize,one after another in 2002 and 2004 And she was once awarded the Prize of Science and Technology and the 2nd-class Prize of Investigation for three times.She was selected as a topnotch-innovated scholar in 2005. Recently sha has kept on making research on the suburb urban economy of big cities,and on some prolems of famers or countryside or agricultuture as well as relative policies or countermeasures to the suburb citification, the countryside construction,the city-oriented agricultural Industry Organization, and the urban agrcultural produce system,etc.

a member of the People's Political Consultaive Conference for the 9th and 10th time; a constant member of China Suburb Economy Reserch Council; a member of Cate-Nutrition Commission of China Cuisine Association;a constant member of Beijing Suburb Economy Research Association；a member of Beijing Urban Economics Council.And also he was appointed as a director of Beijing Sibirb Economy Research Institute; he is a noted scholoar researching on sibirb economic development.
